SDC London Region Event on Sustainability in Fashion and Textiles: https://sdc.org.uk/event/sustainability-in-fashion-and-textiles-sdc-london-region/

Bluehanded and Jugu www.jugu.co.uk/ participated in a sustainability discussion at the London College of Fashion. Invited by Fiona White @patterntextilesstudio www.fionawhitedesign.com

We joined speakers AO Textiles, http://www.aotextiles.com/  Hewitt Heritage Fabrics http://heritagefabrics.co.uk/ & Post Carbon Lab https://www.postcarbonlab.com/

From ancient artisanal dyeing techniques of cultural significance to the future of biological textile colouration, it made for an interesting talk on how designers can choose sustainable and ethical colouration fabrics.

Bluehanded and Jugu provide traditional pattern making and dyeing skills that date back hundreds of years and sustain local Asian cultures by working with the artisans to develop more contemporary patterns.

We spoke to a crowded room who are interested what options are available to them and to explore new methods and ancient crafts to make their designs.
