Bluehanded and What Marie Likes Pop Up joined Designer Events at The Brixton Department Store.

Bluehanded is all about ethical and sustainable alternatives to mass produced textiles.  Our indigo cloth is printed using the ancient resist paste ‘katazome’ or ‘Lanyinhuabu’ method.  A family of craftspeople hand print the natural cotton with locally sourced materials and fermented indigo plants.

The Brixton Department Store Designers and Makers Market

Designers and Makers Market by Lee Wilson brings together 40 fabulous unique designers, makers, artists and creatives who due to the recent pandemic lost their selling platform over the past year.

We have some super cool makers selling their wares and local companies such as Brixton Gin making cocktails at a pop up bar all weekend.

Expect to see customised denim from Frankie’s, sustainable organic kids wear from Wee Clothing, and plant pots in the shape of Boobs from the Boob pot company. There will also be interiors from Punica Ltd who are supporting small factories in Morocco, as well as Tabitha Living home wares supporting Indian families providing them with better living conditions. Not to mention, candles, skin care, jewellery from Brass and Bold, amazing art from Tipperley Hill and a vintage corner with unique one off quirky pieces.

Bluehanded and What Marie Likes Pop Up is just a small nugget of what’s on offer and the makers are so excited to be able to showcase on a live stage once again.

Here are some of the Traders who will be showcasing their amazing products over the weekend.
