VINTAGE INDIGO REVERSIBLE CUSHION – Carefully seamed cushion made from a single vintage bed cloth. Was made with natural indigo hand dyed using an ancient resist paste method. 100% hand loomed cotton.

Blue & white phoenix & peony design for good luck & happy life. Scottish linen back & Chinese knot buttons & blue piping. This cushion cover shown is 80cm long X 80cm wide.

These rare antique examples of Lan Yin Hua Bu can still be found in country side villages and date back 70 to 100 years. The cotton was hand woven. These were traditionally bed covers, often given as wedding presents. The symbols and designs were to wish long life, prosperity, a happy life together & good luck.

Made to order in a variety of sizes, finishes and patterns. Lead time 6 to 8 weeks.  All vintage fabrics sourced in China. Originally hand made and naturally indigo dyed. These processes along with their age, give each piece unique imperfections.

Care

Due to age of vintage fabrics, fibres will be worn in places. We therefore recommend treating with care, hand washing with a gentle soap with warm water, before line drying. Do not bleach.

Order

All cushions made to order. A 50% deposit is required when you place your order, with the remaining balance due prior to delivery. Lead time 6 to 8 weeks.
