BLUEHANDED has invited Andres to design a capsule menswear collection, using Lan Yin Hua Bu fabric. It is a casual line that has a contemporary feel, yet is classic and timeless. A perfect illustration of this would be the Mao era jacket because this emphasises the utilitarian origins of the fabric.

Andres Ferrer de Armas studied pattern cutting and costume design at Central St. Martins and the London College of Fashion. After graduating, he worked for several well-known fashion designers. Among which was the famous British designer Vivienne Westwood, before relocating to Shanghai in 2009. Here, he continued costume design, and worked for fashion designer Anjara Garcia. While designing, he was also the Professor of Studio Design and Pattern Making at Shanghai University of International Fashion, and taught at the Design Art Institute Mod’Art Paris.

DIAMOND PATTERN INDIGO SHIRT
DIAMOND PATTERN INDIGO SHIRT. Hand dyed natural indigo cotton. Lan Yin Hua Bu hand-cut geometric diamond pattern and all natural dyed indigo 100% cotton.   Diamond pattern indigo shirt, with single breast pocket. This long sleeved shirt is tailored for a more contemporary fit, while the penny collar takes inspiration from Mao era jackets.   Hand-made, plant-dyed natural calico cotton with floral pattern created through an ancient method that uses hand cut patterns with a resist soy bean and lime paste technique. Because of these natural processes, and ethical practices this product is a sustainable fashion item.   Available in sizes small, medium and large, this shirt looks fantastic styled on it's own. Alternatively you can dress it over a classic white t-shirt or under a casual summer jacket.
Care
Because the deep rich blue of this artisanal hand dyed indigo cotton ages with wear, the shirt becomes characteristically personal with usage.  After the first three washes any excess indigo dye should wash out, therefore minimising the possibility of rubbing off.
