BLUEHANDED has invited Andres to design a capsule menswear collection, using Lan Yin Hua Bu fabric. It is a casual line that has a contemporary feel, yet is classic and timeless. A perfect illustration of this would be the Mao era jacket because this emphasises the utilitarian origins of the fabric.
Andres Ferrer de Armas studied pattern cutting and costume design at Central St. Martins and the London College of Fashion. After graduating, he worked for several well-known fashion designers. Among which was the famous British designer Vivienne Westwood, before relocating to Shanghai in 2009. Here, he continued costume design, and worked for fashion designer Anjara Garcia. While designing, he was also the Professor of Studio Design and Pattern Making at Shanghai University of International Fashion, and taught at the Design Art Institute Mod’Art Paris.
